Here Are
Ways to Participate
and Help in the Animal Rights Movement:
Education
and Progress Through Reading and Sharing
Here are various books that I encourage you to read to describe the
plight and struggle of animals in our society. I have included books,
such as, Diet for a New America, to illustrate the horrors of
the meat production industry, and When Elephants Weep to elucidate
people on the fact that animals have sophisticated methods of expression
and communication.
Volunteer
for the Animal Law Office
There are various volunteer opportunities available at the Animal Law
Office. You can participate by drafting and/or filing legal documents,
as well as researching and investigating any of my open cases. Even
if you do not have a legal background, there are still numerous tasks
waiting, from file docketing and making web updates, to interviews of
clients and researching issues on the web. I usually ask for a time
commitment of 2-3 hours for one day a week in the office. If you live
in the Bay Area, I would be delighted to hear from you.
Start
Reading Labels and Be a Smart Consumer
You can make a difference in the day to day suffering of animals by
refusing to purchase products or investing in companies that test and/or
torture animals. You can also help encourage others to be smart consumers
as well.
Support Vegan
Professionals
If you cannot adopt a vegan lifestyle yourself (i.e. To not consume
animals, animal products or products that have been tested upon animals),
then support professionals that will spend your money environmentally
and compassionately towards animals.

Make
a Non-Tax Deductible Contribution to the Animal Law Office
The Animal Law Office takes about 25% of its cases on a pro bono (free)
basis to continue to give animals and animal rights activists a voice
and presence in the judicial process. Your donation would be much appreciated
and would offset litigation and general practice costs. This office,
however, is not a 501(c)(3) organization.
